这部电影是中国科幻片的一个突破，完全能媲美美国大片，开头的场面大气磅礴，诸多科幻元素完全和中国人的价值观契合。这部电影有完整的剧情，有正确导向的价值观，确实值得观看。是续集也是前传，有继承也有突破。在视觉方面，提供了绝对震撼的恢宏场面，无论是高耸的太空电梯，还是月球危机引发的潮汐与碎片，都在用“大”，衬托人类的“小”。而渺小的人类如何在这宏大且无情的宇宙中努力求存，则是这个系列贯穿始终的命题。《流浪地球2》更令人惊讶的一点，是在故事上与前作分毫不差地接续的同时，还要在主题上与前作形成呼应和互文。这方面的成功，很大程度上得益于刘德华饰演的图恒宇这个角色。正是因为他对女儿的爱与执念，催生了具有自主意识的人工智能莫斯（550w）。图恒宇与已经成为数字生命的女儿丫丫的对话，和刘培强与550w之间的对话，也是全片最感人且最值得玩味的段落。图恒宇试图用永恒的生命重新定义死亡，而刘培强则通过对550w表现出的绝对理性的质疑，再度定义了人性。具备了这样深度的思考与探讨，我们的科幻就不只是徒有视觉奇观的空壳，而是真正有了可以驰骋翱翔的翅膀。
