一、培养良好的阅读习惯，帮助学生形成初步的阅读意识
对于低年级学生，因为他们英语知识极为有限，所以我们就选取一些色彩鲜艳，文字较少的小故事，让学生首先被精美的图画吸引，再通过看图画能简单理解故事大意，通过听故事和老师的讲解让学生不知不觉地进行简单的语句重复，并融入到故事当中。教学中我们充分利用学生的有意注意与无意注意设计各种教学活动，增强对学生的认读训练，以此调动学生的主动性和积极性，激发学生自主阅读故事的兴趣。
二、将自然拼读法与故事阅读相结合，帮助学生掌握单词拼读规律
多年来我们一直在坚持不懈地进行按照读音规律拼读单词的语音教学，但是学生在阅读过程中，如果遇到生词，学生也不敢自己尝试按照拼读规律读出单词，而是等着老师教。这说明我们的语音教学并没有被学生完全掌握，也远没有形成学生自觉的学习技巧。我们在教学中就一直尝试自然拼读法。引导学生逐步掌握一定的单词拼读规律，并能够在教师的引导下拼读符合规律的单词。并且在发音不够准确的时候，通过老师的动作提示，能够自觉纠正发音。学生对于没有学过的单词，不再是一味地等待了，而是敢于大胆地拼读，并且大部分能够拼对。
三、有效参与机制提供阅读实践活动的保障
课堂导读是指学生在教师的指导下，从故事结构、主题思想、细节信息到文章寓意等多方面地理解课文。阅读不仅仅是会读字词，它还需要学生通过阅读真正理解这篇文章或故事的内涵。这一程序由以下三个环节组成。
1.引入故事。引入故事就是把故事的主题呈现给学生，使学生的注意力集中到故事提供的语言情景中来，激发学生的阅读*。对于不同故事，教师应采用不同形式导入，常见导入形式有：提问、设置悬念、介绍背景、观看*、唱歌等。
2.作出预测。预测是阅读的重要组成部分，教师可以引导学生根据故事的题目或图片去预测故事的主要内容、可能用到的词汇，教师也可以引导学生根据教师所给的主要词汇预测故事的主要内容和主要句子。在教Little Rabbit这个故事时，我是这样帮助学生进行预测。通过一首儿歌引出故事的主人公the rabbit and the bee，然后出示一幅图片提出问题，引导学生展开想象。Question1：What happened to this rabbit？Question2：Are they good friends？ Why？
3.有效练习――拓展阅读能力的空间。在阅读教学中我通过声情并茂的多媒体课件帮助学生理解、训练思维、发展阅读理解能力。特别是低年级的学生利用多媒体开展故事阅读教学不但能有效激发学生的求知欲、促进对故事的理解，还能发展学生的想象力。故事阅读课后，教师不但要让学生练习、巩固和扩展在阅读课中新学到的语言知识，还要发展其说和写的能力。课后练习有多种多样，要针对不同的阅读课而设计练习形式有表演故事、缩写、改写故事、复述故事等。
此外我还布置课后阅读。我有意识地引导学生通过书籍、网络或报刊阅读一些小故事、短文、儿歌等，有效地扩充学生的阅读量、阅读范围，逐步培养学生良好的阅读习惯和阅读技能。
四、教学中渗透阅读策略，有效地提高学生的阅读能力
古人也曾经说过：“授之以鱼，不如授之以渔。这就强调了教给掌握知识的方法较知识本身对人的发展更为重要。所以我想尽一切办法在教学中培养阅读策略，教学生学会阅读的技巧，为学生的终身发展打下基础。
1.教学中注意培养学生联系上下文猜词的能力。新的课程标准也明确指出：“教师应有意识地培养学生在阅读时能根据阅读材料的上下文和情景去推测、理解生词的含义”。这就要求教师在实施阅读教学过程中应有意识地鼓励学生大胆猜词，平时还应注意多做些猜词的练习活动，鼓励学生阅读时大胆猜词，培养学生综合的阅读能力。
2.阅读教学中渗透文化意识，发展学生自觉用英语思考问题意识。每个地区都有其独特的地域特点和文化意识，所以要学好一种语言首先要了解其独特的文化意识，只有了解其文化背景才能很好掌握其语言的应用。所以教师在阅读过程中要有意识地渗透文化帮助学生更好地理解阅读内容，只有这样才能使学生自然有英语的思维考虑问题，从而有效地提高学生的阅读能力。
五、结语
